The first Boston Marathon to be run since last year's bombings occurred on Easter Monday.  Victims returned to run the race again.  It was a symbol of hope, and a symbol of Easter.

A group called the "Australian Defence League" was profiled on ABC's 7.30 Report last night.  

The group aims to rid Australia of Islam.

In this blog, I would like to take the opportunity to reject both the aims and the methods of this group.

In his Lenten message, Pope Francis told us that "in imitation of our Master, we Christians are called to confront the poverty of our brothers and sisters, to touch it, to make it our own and to take practical steps to alleviate it."
